Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a mother committed suicide after killing her five-month-old son under Kulsumpura police station limits. The mother took the extreme step allegedly due to harassment of in-laws.
According to police, Sweta Rani, wife of Tapan Kumar (27) and resident of Bheem Nagar (near Jiyaguda) gave her five-month-old son poison pills, before hanging herself at her residence. When her husband visited the house for lunch, during office hours, he found the dead bodies. Police registered a case and sent the bodies of mother and child to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem and began investigation.
