Speed up trade license fee collection: Shruti Ojha
The Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Municipal Commissioner Shruti Ojha directed the Corporation officials to take up an action plan for achieving target in collecting trade license fees.

At a review meeting with the officials here on Wednesday, she expressed displeasure over the slow process of trade license collection from the traders in the city, in response to a sanitary inspector-wise data presented to her.
Though there was a target of Rs 1.8 crore, the Corporation was able to collect only 30 per cent of the license fees so far. As the current financial year (2017-18) was going to end in another 45 days, the concerned staff and official should speed up the process, she told. There were about 200 wine shops in the city. By consulting the excise commissioner, an action plan should be prepared to collect trade license fee from those shops, the Municipal Commissioner told the municipal health officer (MHO), B Raja Reddy.
Ojha told the MHO to submit proposals on new rates of trade license fee in the next standing committee meeting. She also said that she would conduct a meeting next Wednesday to review the progress of collection of trade license fees.
She wanted the MHO to ensure every sanitary inspector provided with a tab for the collection of the fees from Thursday onwards. Referring to the functioning of Swachh autos, care must be taken to ensure the garbage collected will be dumped at designated place. A mission mode programme needed to be taken to address the problem of stray pigs. Regarding the issue of stray cattle moving on the roads in the city, a detailed study needed to be taken up in association with city police commissionerate officials, Ojha said.
The MHO informed that every day about 72 tonnes of garbage was being lifted in the city. But due to over load, the vehicles were often breaking down. On this, the Commissioner directed the engineering wing officials to procure ten more compact bins on hire basis.
Ojha advised the MHO to organise a study tour of sanitary inspectors to Mysuru in Karnataka to learn about the management practices being adopted by Mysuru City Corporation and to soon finalise the date of the tour.
