ISE Foods, major Japanese Food Processing company to invest in Telangana
Japanese food processing major ISE Foods would be setting up a processing unit near Siddipet soon. The proposed facility will also have a training center in Poultry Technology.
Hyderabad: Japanese food processing major ISE Foods would be setting up a processing unit near Siddipet soon. The proposed facility will also have a training center in Poultry Technology.
The Telangana Government has handed over all the required allotments and incentives details to the Chairman of ISE Foods, Nobuhiko ISE, at a meeting held in Hyderabad today. An MoU with ISE foods was inked during Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao's visit to Japan in January 2018.
Earlier, a Japanese Business Delegation led by Mitsuhiro Miyakoshi, Advisor to the Japanese PM, met Telangana ministers Etela Rajender, KT Rama Rao and P Mahender Reddy in Hyderabad today. Officials from Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, Embassy of Japan, Nobuhiko ISE, Chairman of ISE Group, and other delegates were part of this business delegation.
Making his opening remarks at the meeting, Minister KT Rama Rao said that his respect for Japan keeps increasing with each visit. He recounted how the country has faced several adverse situations in the last 8 decades, yet has managed to bounce back with renewed vigor and passion. Minister outlined the various focus sectors of the state government and assured that the state government would extend all possible assistance to Japanese investors willing to invest in Telangana.
The Minister said that Telangana is primarily an agrarian state and gave a detailed overview on the various initiatives the state government has taken to improve the agriculture sector. He said that a massive initiative to provide irrigation to lakhs of acres of land is underway in the state. He said the improved irrigation facilities would definitely result in more agriculture output. He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has already given instructions to create food processing clusters across the state, to ensure that the farmers realize more value for their harvest.
KTR also informed the delegation that the state has embarked on a journey to improve Meat production in the state. He said that the Chief Minister's vision includes creating the next wave of Green (Agriculture), Blue (Fisheries), White (Dairy) and Pink (Meat) Revolutions in the state of Telangana.
Finance Minister Etela Rajender also shared his experiences as a poultry farmer. He informed the visiting delegation that the state is already the Egg Capital of the country and is also leading in chick production and chicken production. He said that due to the diligent efforts of the CM, the state is rapidly transforming as the Seed Bowl of the country. He also informed that the state produces one of the finest maize varieties in the world. He welcomed the Japanese investors to explore opportunities in food processing sector in the state.
Responding to the state ministers' initial remarks, Mitsuhiro Miyakoshi stated that Telangana stands out among various Indian states in terms of the enthusiasm and proactive nature of the leadership here. He expressed his happiness at the agreement with ISE Foods being taken forward with the state government giving all details of allotments and incentives that would be offered to ISE Foods facility to be set up in Telangana soon.
Mitsuhiro Miyakoshi said that the state government should create a food value chain in the state to realize maximum potential of the farm produce. He said that Japanese food processing companies have worldwide name for their quality. He advised that Telangana should also implement modern irrigation facilities, which would optimize water usage and also lead to better output.
ISE Foods Chairman Nobushiko ISE thanked Telangana government for the speed with which the necessary background work for their upcoming Egg Processing facility near Siddipet has been completed. He said that they would definitely consider Telangana for their future expansion too.
Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, Industries Secretary Jayesh Ranjan also participated in the meeting.
