L B Nagar: Zilla Parishad roads costing Rs 2 crore are being launched in Hastinapur division, said Corporator Ramavath Padma Naik on Wednesday. Speaking to The Hans India, after inspecting the road works in the division, Naik stated that development works worth Rs 50 crore were being taken up, as several new colonies were coming up in the division on City’s outskirts. She pointed out that works, mainly roads, drainage and water pipelines, in many colonies were being taken up.

The Corporator said LED lights have been stalled by GHMC in every colony. She stated that everyone were working for solving the problems of the residents of the division, while objecting to the needless criticism being resorted to by some persons intending to stall development works.

According to Naik, BT works have been launched as follow-up to the completion of drinking water schemes. In view of the ongoing works vehicular traffic from Devakamma Thota to Bhupeshnagar is being diverted for ten days. This should be noted by the road-users. She asserted that since the TRS government assumed office the pace of development works on the City outskirts has increased, where people still faced problems.

Efforts were being made to solve these issues by taking them to the notice of officials. EE Anantaranayan, DE Venugopal, AE Praveen Kumar, TRS leaders Gopal Naik, Govardhan Das were present at the inspection.
