Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said that the TRS rule would be remembered as the dark chapter in the history of Telangana.
In a live interaction with Congress party workers on social media platform Facebook, he said Telangana was apparently the only State among 29 other States in the country where the ruling party suspended all members of main Opposition for the entire session to approve the annual budget without discussion.
He said never in the history of independent India that the elected representatives were treated in such a manner wherein two MLAs were expelled from the House based on a fictitious story weaved by the Chief Minister and all other members were suspended for the entire session.
Strongly defending protest by Congress MLAs during the address of Governor ESL Narasimhan to the joint session of Telangana Legislature on March 12, the TPCC Chief said the Congress members were silent for the first 10 minutes. Since the Governor's speech had no mention of farmers' welfare, the Congress legislatures protested.
However, the TRS government floated a fictitious story of attack on Council Chairman Swamy Goud and implemented the conspiracy to throw out all Congress members from the House. He said TRS MPs, including KCR's daughter K Kavitha, was holding similar protests in the Parliament.
"If suspension of members protesting the House was a norm, then why TRS MPs are not being suspended from the Parliament?" he asked. Uttam Kumar Reddy said there was a larger conspiracy behind suspension of Congress MLAs. The Congress legislators were fully prepared to expose the failures of TRS government and a decision was taken to pressurise the government to allocate sufficient funds to fulfill electoral promises in the last budget before next elections, he added.
The Congress was so serious about the budget session that it had stopped the ‘Praja Chaitanya Yatra’ to facilitate all legislators from participating in the discussions, TPCC Chief said. Sensing that the TRS government would be fully exposed, KCR hatched a conspiracy to prevent all Congress MLAs and MLCs from entering the Assembly and Council. Uttam said KCR has violated all democratic norms and had set many bad precedents in a new State.
Shanta from Bellampally, Kalinga Raju from Parkal, Tirupati Naik from Narsampet, Ankush from Warangal, Shekher from Nagarjunasagar, Khwaja Pasha from Jadcherla and other party workers spoke to the TPCC Chief in one-hour live programme.
