Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday announced the constitution of special cell with Rs 50 crore fund for the welfare and to address the problems, if any, facing by the State NRIs settled in different countries.

A senior level IAS official will head the special cell, the Chief Minister instructed Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao and MP K Kavitha to prepare modalities for the constitution of the cell and action plan to execute. A delegation of Telangana NRI called on KCR at the camp office Pragati Bhavan here. The Chief Minister discussed in detail the problems encountered by the NRIs and the government’s assistance they required.

The Chief Minister said his government already earmarked Rs 100 crore for NRIs welfare and Rs 50 crore will add additionally. He urged the NRIs to take initiative and create a platform to take up a debate on qualitative change in the politics in India worldwide. The Chief Minister told the representatives he formed Federal Front for qualitative change in politics and not for posts or power. He wanted NRIs to become stakeholders in his endeavor for the well-being of the country.

“Telangana State is number one in the country in several fields. We are going ahead wonderfully. We have attained political stability. Our future is very bright. We are going ahead on progressive path,” the Chief Minister told the NRIs.
