Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao predicted that all regional parties put together would secure more seats than the national parties BJP and the Congress in the 2019 general elections in the country.

As part of his two-day visit to Chennai, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief on Monday met Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader and Rajya Sabha MP M K Kanimozhi and discussed about the political developments taking place in the country ahead of the elections for more than one hour.

During their meeting, Chandrashekar Rao asserted the need to bring all regional forces under a single roof. “Only when the regional parties are strong enough, the federal spirit will sustain,” he said adding that all the regional parties put together would emerge as a strong political force by winning more number of seats in the next elections.

The TRS chief expressed hope that the regional parties would play a crucial role in the national political scenario. Kanimozhi complimented and congratulated Chandrashekar Rao for his efforts, it is learnt. She said the regional parties should be more united and work together for the development of the nation and States.

Chandrashekar Rao explained in detail the development of the nation during the Congress and the BJP regimes. He also discussed with Kanimozhi about the fast developments of the States under the rule of regional parties like DMK in Tamil Nadu and the TRS in Telangana.
