Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday has asked the tribals to fight against the TRS government to protect their rights.

Addressing a public meeting at Asifabad, Uttam recalled that Komaram Bheem gave the slogan of Jal, Jungle aur Jameen (Water, Forests and Land) and did not bow before the Nizam’s army for the rights of tribals. Similarly, he said Komaram Bheem's ideals stand valid even today and they must be emulated to get justice for the tribals who were being suppressed by the TRS government.

He alleged that the State government has been forcibly taking away tribal lands in the name of Haritha Haram and added that it was the previous Congress governments which gave tribals complete rights over their lands. He said, however, those rights were being taken away from tribals by the TRS government.

Claiming that there has been a negative wave against KCR family in the State, the TPCC chief said Congress party would win over 80 seats in next elections. He promised tribals of protecting their lands if the party voted to power in coming up elections.

The TPCC Chief said that the next Congress government would create lakhs of job opportunities for the youth and would also pay a monthly allowance of 3,000 for jobless youth. Uttam asked the farmers to remain cautious with KCR government. He said that the TRS government did nothing for the farming community in the last four years and the government’s neglect has driven more than 4,000 farmers to suicide.

With just months before the next elections, the government has come up with Rythu Bandhu scheme, he said, adding that Rs 4,000 per acre for a season was not a big financial assistance for the farmers as being claimed by the TRS Government. He said farmers also need remunerative prices and other support.

He said that the next Congress government would waive off crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, besides ensuring remunerative prices on agriculture produce. The meeting was also addressed by Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, T Jeevan Reddy, Sabitha Indira Reddy and other senior leaders. Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders paid floral tributes to the statue of BR Ambedkar.
