​Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao set June as the deadline for completion of Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks distributions to each and every eligible farmer.

At a high-level review meeting with the officials and Ministers concerned on Rythu Bandhu scheme at Pragati Bhavan here, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to address all the technical problems encountered in the distribution of cheques and passbooks by the time the new registration policy comes into effect on Telangana formation day on June 2.

He said that those farmers who failed to attend the distribution programme when scheduled in their villages should obtain their passbooks and cheques from the concern MRO/Tahsildar Office. The Chief Minister also called an emergency review meeting on Wednesday to formulate a strategy to ensure that the whole cheque and passbook distribution programme comes to a conclusion before the deadline.

The meeting will also discuss about the farmers insurance scheme, Kanti Velugu (Eye Camps), State formation day celebrations and Panchayath Raj elections etc. Expressing happiness that Rythu Bandhu scheme received tremendous response and applause from across the country, the Chief Minister warned some officials who failed to discharge their duties in tune with the requirement.

He said it was brought to his notice that cheques passbooks were not distributed to some farmers due to delay in the linkage of Aadhaar card.

The rectification of land records was also not properly handled. “At a time when the government has been doing a lot for the benefit of farmers with great commitment, it is unfortunate that some of the officials are unable to discharge their duties in tune with the requirement. It is high time that they change and jump into action on war footing”, the Chief Minister said.
