Save every drop of water message goes for a toss
The Telangana government is spending crores of rupees on advertising for saving water. The city is facing an imminent threat of drinking water crisis, a drinking water pipe leakage at Osmania University Gate Coffee Day, Bagh Amberpet outlet has been leaking precious water for the last one month.
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is spending crores of rupees on advertising for saving water. The city is facing an imminent threat of drinking water crisis, a drinking water pipe leakage at Osmania University Gate Coffee Day, Bagh Amberpet outlet has been leaking precious water for the last one month.
Residents of Bagh Amberpet and surrounding areas have filed several complaints to the officials but all in vain. Salauddin, a resident said, “Water leaks here whenever there is drinking water supply. Sometimes water leaks for the whole day. We have been complaining to the officials regularly. But nothing has happened so far”.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Water supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) officers have kept save water messages like "Water is precious, every drop is countable" as ringtones for their cell phones, it seems officers are only permitted to keep ringtones but not for implementation. Every officer must and should implement this first said Salauddin.
