Man strangles intellectually challenged twins in Hyderabad, arrested

A man allegedly strangled two intellectually challenged children in Hyderabad late Friday night. The man, identified as Mallikarjun Reddy, a resident of Satyanarayanapuram, strangled his nephew Vishnuvardhan Reddy and niece Srujana, who were twins, of his sister Lakshmi.

Mallikarjun’s sister is married to Srinivas Reddy and lives in Miryalguda.

The police stated that Mallikarjun brought the two children from Miryalguda to Hyderabad on Friday on the pretence that he would enrol them in swimming classes. Later, he strangled them and tried to dispose of their bodies. However, the house owner caught him while doing so and alerted the police, who arrested the accused.

The investigation is in progress.
