Students seek govt junior colleges in mandals
District president of Telugu Nadu Student Federation (TNSF) D Sumanth here on Tuesday alleged that due to the lack of minimum basic facilities, students studying in government junior colleges are suffering from many problems and demanded that the State government establish junior colleges in Thallada, Julurpadu and Raghunathapalem mandals of Khammam district.
Khammam: District president of Telugu Nadu Student Federation (TNSF) D Sumanth here on Tuesday alleged that due to the lack of minimum basic facilities, students studying in government junior colleges are suffering from many problems and demanded that the State government establish junior colleges in Thallada, Julurpadu and Raghunathapalem mandals of Khammam district.
The representatives of the TNSF submitted a memorandum to the District Intermediate Education Officer (DIEO) here at his office in Khammam.
Speaking on the occasion, Sumanth alleged that students studying in government colleges were facing a lot of problems without facilities including permanent building, drinking water and toilets in colleges.
People, along with students, have been demanding for the past 20 years that the government establish junior colleges in Thallada, Julurpadu and Ragunathapalem mandals. Many students residing in several villages of these mandals were finding it difficult to reach the government junior college located very far, covering lot of distance, he pointed out.
Due to the lack of government colleges in several mandals, the students were forced to join in private colleges for their education, paying high fees, he said and added that many students belonging to poor families were discontinuing their education as there was no proper facilities for higher education in their villages.
The government must establish government colleges in Thallada, Julurpadu and Ragunathapalem mandals apart from providing all basic facilities that were required for the students he demanded and warned that otherwise the TNSF would take up massive agitations to teach the government a fitting lesson. TNSF representatives Bhukya Srinivas, Ashok, Chaganti Srikanth, Pramod Reddy, Battula Abhiram and Kasani Brahmam were present along with others.
