Nalgonda: District Additional Superintendent of Police Padmanabha Reddy said blood donation was a noble activity as it gave new lease of life to the needy in critical times. He inaugurated a blood donation camp jointly organised by Khader Memorial Hospital, Indian Academy of Pediatricians and Indian Medical Association (IMA) at Khader Memorial Hospital in Nalgonda on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Padmanabha Reddy said blood donation kept a person more healthy and advised the youth to donate blood at least twice in a year to save others’ lives. He informed that the Police Department was ahead of others in organising blood donation camps and appreciated the organisers for conducting the camp in the interest of people.

IMA Neelagiri president Dr Vasantha Kumari said there was a lot of scarcity of blood in the district and emphasised on conducting more such camps to meet the demand. Blood camp host Dr Khader Jilani urged the people to donate blood on auspicious occasions to mark the day more memorable.

He said as a responsible doctor, along with his family and kin, he often donated blood and conducted blood donation camps to save lives of patients at crucial times. As many as 65 enthusiastic youth donated blood in the camp. Doctors Sudhakar, Gowrisri, Divadeenam, medical representatives Madhu, Amjad, Krishna, Dr Ayesha Arif, Rizwan and others participated in the programme.
