Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president Dr K Laxman said that BJP national president Amit Shah's one-day visit to Hyderabad on Friday will focus on chalking out strategies to come to power in Telangana in 2019 general elections.

Addressing media here on Thursday, Laxman said that Amit Shah will be reaching Hyderabad in a special flight from Patna. Amit Shah will be holding special meetings with the full-time Vistharaks appointed in various parliament constituencies to take stock of the party situation in their respective areas, he added. Secondly, he will hold a special meeting with the Committee formed to look after the election preparedness of the party for 2019 general elections, he said.

The party president’s visit comes in the aftermath of the recently concluded Jana Chaitanya Yatra (JCY) and will focus on a comprehensive and detailed discussion on the party's strategy of 'Mission 60 Plus' in line with the party’s 'Target Telangana' in 2019 general elections.

Laxman said that the meetings will finalise a roadmap that would be followed by the party leaders for the next 10 months in order to strengthen the party.

The roadmap will replicate the winning strategies followed in Assam, Haryana and Tripura. The strategies will be formulated to bring a political change in Telangana by winning 60 plus assembly and victory in Lok Sabha constituencies in double digit.

Amit Shah’s strategies and the charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, besides, the development-welfare agenda of the Centre will be the basis for a win-win situation for the party in Telangana, Laxman said. Internal feuds of the Congress leaders fighting for as to who should occupy the Chief Minister’s Chair has left the main Opposition party not able to perform its role inside as well as outside the house, he added.

The successful conduct of JCY has given much-needed confidence to the people that BJP can only fight against the appeasement, divisive, opportunistic politics of the ruling TRS and the Congress and protect people’s interest. Meanwhile, party units of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal and Vikarabad are making preparation to accord a grand reception to the party’s national president on his arrival to Begumpet Airport on Friday.

BJP national general secretary Upendra Yadav, Union State Minister for Home Affairs, Hans Raj Ahir, Rajya Sabha MP Bhupendra Yadav, party Telangana in-charge P K Krishna Das will be accompanying Amit Shah during his one day tour.
