Hyderabad: Harish Rao on Monday inspected the field works of new railway line works from Manoharabad of Medchal to Kothapally in Siricilla district.

The minister inspected the progress of the ongoing works at various places including bridge works at Yavapur, Nacharam station works, Begumpet-Veeranagar station, linking works at Appayapally, tunnel works at Banglavenkatapur village including ROBs, RUBs, Railway Gates at Manoharabad, highway crossings, overpassing of 400KV and 220 KV electrical power lines and bridges over National Highway at Ramayapally village and other construction works in Manoharabad, Toopran, Medchal and Gajwel mandals.

The Minister said, so far, 17 km out of 31 km of the railway line from Manoharabad to Gajwel, works have been completed and the remaining would be finished within three months.

The minister, who ordered the officials to speed up the works to make ready the railway line till Gajwel by January next year, responded positively to set up a railway station at Begumpet in Doulatabad mandal recommended by Dubbaka MLA S Ramalinga Reddy.

To overcome the issues with the highway crossings, the railway officials and the MPs and ministers are taking all possible actions by talking to the central roadways and power department officials. The expenditure of the project had increased from Rs.360 crore to Rs.1160 crore by the stonewalling and negligence by the Congress government in the past, alleged the minister who will held a review meeting with the officials of all the departments on the railway line.

Railway Chief Engineer Ramesh, Deputy Chief Engineer, National Highway Authority of India chairman Hameed Ali, Food Corporation Chairman Election Reddy, Housing Corporation Chairman Bhumi Reddy, Gajwel RDO Vijayendar Reddy and others were present during the visit.

Later, the Minister held a review meeting on the progress of Mission Bhageeratha project in the district with the collector and other officials at the collectorate at Siddipet and ordered to expedite the works to meet the deadline.

He also reviewed on the underground drainage works and fourth phase of Haritha Haram in Siddipet municipality including 20 villages that come under SUDA limits. He ordered to make arrangements for the mass plantation of 50,000 saplings in the SUDA limits with effective planning and coordinatioin.
