Hanamkonda: District Collector Amrapali Kata has appealed to people to cooperate with the administration to transform the Warangal Urban district into a ‘Child Labour Free’ zone. In a review meeting here on Wednesday, she said that administration has been focusing intensely to eradicate the malady of child labour in the region.

“The children, who were rescued during the rescue drives, have been admitted to residential schools,” she said. Amrapali directed the officials to visit the bus stations, railway platforms, religious places etc to find out the missing children and child labour. Further she directed the officials to ensure stringent action against those employing children.

The administration is trying to appoint village level committees in all 106 gram panchayats of the district to identify child labourers, she said. “We have identified 49 villages that are free of child labour”.

She appealed to people to inform the authorities by calling the 98480 56440 if they have information about the child labour. Complainant details will be kept confidential. Child Labour project director Prasad Rao was among others present.
