Khammam: Telangana State Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (TS MRPS), State Core Committee member Perla Madhu here on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deceiving the people belonging to Scheduled Caste community. He took strong objection to the Central government not introducing the SC Categorisation Bill in Parliament.
As part of the call given by the State Committee, the representatives of the TS MRPS staged a sit-in protest in front of the District Collectorate here. Speaking on the occasion, Madhu alleged that the BJP had reneged on its election promise to introduce SC categorisation bill in Parliament within 100 days of its coming to power. But even after completing four years of rule, the BJP party had failed to fulfil its promise, he said.
Even the TRS government was also negligent in addressing the issues of Dalits. The TRS government, including Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, had been giving assurances to the Dalits, but nothing was so far done for the welfare of weaker sectins, he said.
He said the Chief Minister had failed to fulfil his promise to lead a delegation to the Prime Minister on the SC categorisation issue. TS-MRPS activists L Venkateswharlu, P Prakash, P Shyam, P Venkanna, G Vijaya Bhavani, N Ramu, K Sriniva, K Rathnam, P Praveen, Narsamma and K Narasimha were present at the programme.
