Nuvulla Prasanna elected as Bhongir’s new municipal chairperson
Nuvulla Prasanna was elected unanimously as Bhongirs new municipal chairperson Presiding officer and Bhongir RDO Bhupal Reddy conducted municipal council special meeting on Friday at Municipal meeting hall in Bhongir As many as 17 councilors and local MLA P Shekar Reddy, MLC A Krishna Reddy as the exofficio members attended the meeting
Suryapet: Nuvulla Prasanna was elected unanimously as Bhongir’s new municipal chairperson. Presiding officer and Bhongir RDO Bhupal Reddy conducted municipal council special meeting on Friday at Municipal meeting hall in Bhongir. As many as 17 councilors and local MLA P Shekar Reddy, MLC A Krishna Reddy as the ex-officio members attended the meeting.
Soon after the commencement of the meeting, Councilor Pollishetty Anil Kumar proposed the name of councilor Nuvulla Prasanna for the post of the chairperson and councilor Fateh Mohammed seconded the proposal. No other councilor contested for the post and all the attended 17 councilors unconditionally extended their supported to Nuvvula Prasanna’s candidature.
Presiding officer and RDO Bhupal Reddy announced and endorsed Nuvulla Prasanna as new chairperson of Bhongir Municipality and issued certificate of election to her. Vice Chairman B. Mahalaxmi and TRS councilors participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, the Congress, TDP, BJP and CPM councilors boycotted the meeting.
Newly elected Chairperson Nuvulla Prasanna thanked everyone who extended their cooperation for her election as the municipal Chairperson. She said that she would take the help of MLA Shekar Reddy, MLC Krishna Reddy and her party workers for the development of Bhongir town in all aspects.
The election was necessitated as the former municipal chairperson Surigi Lavanya was forced to resign the post under circumstance a couple of months ago.
