Vikarabad: The problem of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) can be solve only by taking up a united struggle, said JACTO and USPC State leader Pochayya here on Saturday. Speaking after participating in a rally prior to the 'maha dharna' at local revenue divisional office and submission of a representation to RDO, he stated that CPS was being implemented for employees and teachers appointed after September 1, 2004, in the unified Andhra Pradesh.

It was enforced for employees in 2013 by the UPA government with the help of the Opposition under the DFRDA Act. As CPS was totally in the State's control the TRS government, which has more finances at its disposal, should drop the scheme. Pochayya accused the State government of acting unilaterally even though its staff was agitating for scrapping CCS, while expressing anguish. He alleged that the TRS government at the instance of the World Bank had put social security aspect of 1.2 lakh employees and teachers in geopardy.

He called for united struggles to expose the government mechinations. The JACTO leader ridiculed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for holding 'Pragati Nivedana Sabha' when the employees were agitating. He called upon the employees to reply through their votes to the 'dictatorial' attitude being shown by the ruling party. Among those who took part in the dharna were joint district representatives of JATCO-USPC Venkataratnam, Venugopal, Mahipal Reddy, Shafi, Rajkumar, Ramakrishna, Narsimhulu, Ravinder Reddy, Sattyya Bhaskar, Shivakumar.
