Hanamkonda: District Congress Committee president Naini Rajender Reddy has come down heavily on the ruling TRS for creating a lot of hype on its Pragathi Nivedana Sabha.
Speaking to the media persons at Hanamkonda on Monday, he said that the Nivedana Sabha that was touted as ‘mother of all meetings’ by the TRS top brass has fizzled out without much success and substance.
“Instead of showing his progress report of the last four years in the meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao ran out of ideas and ended up in criticising the Congress,” Reddy said, terming the meeting as a damp squib.
Was it necessary to spend crores of rupees just to criticise the Congress, he questioned. It was clearly evident that liquor sales went up on Saturday and Sunday, he said, referring to the TRS government’s pomp to mobiles the crowds.
He said the failure of the meeting indicates that the TRS government’s graph is crashing down. “We have more foundation stones than gravestones in the State,” he poohpoohed the TRS government, referring to the sparse development taken place in last four years.
“To conceal its failures, the TRS government is spreading lies that it was the Congress that is stalling irrigation projects and as well as development in the State,” Reddy alleged.
Instead of concentrating on development, the TRS government was more focused on encouraging defections, Reddy alleged. The TRS also exerted pressure through foisting false cases against those leaders who didn’t come in terms with it.
KCR created a lot of hype that he was opting for early polls, but the failure of the Sabha made him to rethink over his decision, he said, daring the CM to dissolve the Assembly and go for early elections.
“If KCR can woo Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the zonal system, why not he pressed for the promises made to Telangana in the AP Reorganisation Act-2014,” Reddy questioned.
Referring to the local issues, he demanded the people’s representatives to complete all the pending works in Warangal. Greater president Katla Srinivasa Rao, BC Cell president Kothapally Srinivas, former Corporators A Nagaraju, N Kishan Kumar and BC Cell Greater chairman M Sridhar Goud were among others present.
