Vikarabad: Principal Secretary of Health Santhi Kumari directed the medical officers to initiate steps to identify and treat the patients of TB and Leprosy. She, along with Collector Umar Jaleel reviewed the situation of TB and Leprosy, here at collectorate on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that the prestigious programme 'Kanti Velugu' has been going on very well in the district, but officials should strive to get more results.
Officials must tour at the grass root level and identify the people infected with HIV along with diseases like TB and Leprosy. She said that the State government will provide expensive medicines to such people and will sanction huge funds for this purpose.
She directed the medical officers to be available at PHCs and other centres and provide medical care. Though medical facilities are available in TB Hospital, patients are unable to receive proper care, she said action will be taken, if negelgence is found, The Principal Secretary warned.
