Khammam: Expressing their gratitude and respect to their gurus, students of various schools felicitated their teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Wednesday.

The students offered rich floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in their respective school here in Khammam. Many students studying in colleges made full use of technology and took the teachers by surprise by greeting them on WhatsApp and through SMS throughout the day.

The students of Century Hi-Profile School situated in Srinagar Colony in Khammam city got a fair idea of the responsibility by acting as teachers.
“It requires a lot of hard work and dedication to be a good teacher and earn the affection of students at the same time,” said one of the students who acted as a Mathematics teacher.

Speaking on the occasion, the director of the school, DVS Prabhakar Rao said, of all the professions, teaching profession is very sacred one which has lot of responsibility.

The society which respects the teacher is a great society. The people who treat their teachers with respect reach to greater heights. A teacher feels satisfied when he sees his student reaching to greater heights, he added.

Later, the students who acted best as teachers are given awards along with conducting felicitating ceremony for the teaching staff working in the school.
