Implement Poshan Abhiyaan effectively

Khammam: Collector RV Karnan on Tuesday ordered all departments to implement Poshan Abhiyan programme effectively in the district in coordination with each other.
The Collector directed the officials to conduct several programmes under Poshan Abhiyaan for preventing the malnutrition among the children alongside creating awareness among the pregnant women by suggesting them to eat balanced and nutritious diet to check birth of underweight babies.
The Collector urged the MPDOs, members of Self Help Groups, representatives of people’s organisations and public representatives must participate in large numbers in the programmes that are conducted under Poshan Abhiyaan and make it a grand success.
The Nutrition department State Coordinator, Dr. Rahul explained how to organise the programmes under Poshan Abhiyaan. Later, the District Collector released the poster of Poshan Abhiyaan.
The chief executive officer of zilla parishad Marapaka Nagesh, district officer of the Women and Child Welfare Department R Vara Lakshmi, project director of District Rural and Development departmetn B Indumathi, medical Health Officer Dr A Kondal Rao and child protection officer C Vishnu Chandana and others were present on the occasion.
