Congress and TRS fight over flag post in Kottakota mandal on Wednesday
Wanaparthy: A fracas broke out between the Congress and TRS workers when the former’s leaders in Kottakota mandal of Wanaparthy district resorting to hoist the party flag in front of the recently constructed municipality shopping complex.

The TRS party supporters and activists from the district destroyed the flag pole of the Congress party and a violent tussle broke between the members of both the parties, which lead to exchange of blows between the members of both the parties, which was later foiled by the intervention of the police on Wednesday.

Going into details, recently the TRS government had sanctioned adequate funds for the construction of long pending Municipality shopping complex in Kottakota mandal and later installed their party flag in front of the complex.

However, with recent orders to widen the roads the TRS voluntarily removed the flag post on the road and paved way for the road widening works.
Taking this as an advantage, the Congress party leaders reconstructed another flag post in front of the municipal complex building and tried to hoist their party flag.

This ignited protest between the two parties and members of both the parties staged a sit-out on the main highway and blocked the traffic. Later, the TRS party members destroyed the flag post, which was opposed and resisted by the Congress members.

“Our party has cleared all the pending works which were left pending for the past 40 years during the Congress party regime and constructed the municipal shopping complex building.

However, now the Congress party leaders are claiming their victory and trying to project themselves as the leaders of development. In fact, their act is against the development,” said a protesting TRS leader We as TRS party leaders will never tolerate such false claims of the congress,” he said.
