Hafeezpet: The residents of Hafeezpet and Premnagar have given a warning to political leaders that they would not be casting their vote in the ensuing assembly elections if their complaints are not met. It may be noted that earlier this year, the residents protested on the roads filled with potholes by trying to fish as anglers.

Syed Iftequar Ahmed, president of Premnagar Welfare Association said, “In entire city, government is organising Kanti Velugu, Medical health camps, Basti Dawakhana and Haritha Haram. But the residents of Hafeezpet and Premnagar are not benefitted as these schemes are out of bounds for people living here.”
Rakesh, a resident says we are waiting for politicians to come. We have a lot of questions to ask. Just before elections politicians come and make promises and the corporators too never visit or heed to our complaints.

People have been celebrating Bakrid, Ganesh Chaturthi, Bonalu and other festivals by cleaning the surroundings with their own funds. Roads here in Hafeezpet and Premnagar are in a bad condition for decades. Every monsoon, the place gets flooded. Recently a school bus stuck in the muddy road Premnagar. Residents have now decided to stand united and not vote for any party.

Manohar Kumar a long time resident of Premnagar said that “There are no government primary schools, no community hall and poor families cannot afford function halls for children’s marriages. We have given several representations to the authorities to sanction a community hall but to no avail.” Laxmi who runs an idli shop in Premanagar said, “We have no water connections, I daily travel from ward number 3 to main road Premnagar to fetch drinking water.”
