Hyderabad : Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat, along with the senior officials of the Election Commission of India, reviewed poll preparedness with top officials of various departments of Telangana Government here on Tuesday.

The review meeting with regard to Law & Order situation was held with the officials of Police, Nodal Officers and the Electoral Officers.

Om Prakash Rawat also inaugurated the Mobile van equipped with EVMs & VVPATs and personally inspected the vans and enquired about the functioning of the Machines and also released the VAADA promise App and also voter ID Cards have been distributed to the physically challenged persons.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that there was a need to be more sensitive towards persons with disabilities to ensure their holistic participation in the election process. C-Vigil app is also being provided by ECI to check electoral mall practices during election this app which stands for citizens vigil will be operationlised for the first time as pilot project said the CEC.

Rawat also interacted with the physically challenged persons, their representatives and enquired about the facilities which are being provided to them in the polling stations for the ensuing elections. Later, Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi, along with other senior officials, also had an interaction with the physically challenged persons.

GHMC Commissioner and DEO Dana Kishore explained about the VAADA app to the ECI officials and briefed them about the facilities like transportation to them from their residences to polling stations etc., providing them Ramps, Escorts and all basic minimum facilities to them for their convenience to cast their vote without any problem.
