Niranjan promises 10 more reservoirs for Wanaparthy

Mahbubnagar: With a aim to add additionally 4 lakh acre of ayacut under the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation project (KLI), Singireddy Nirajan Reddy, TRS MLA candidate from Wanaparthy has promised the people of the district that if voted back to power, 10 new reservoirs with a capacity to hold 40 TMC of water would be constructed in a record time of just 1 and half year’s period in the constituency.

While speaking to The Hans India, Niranjan Reddy said, “We have done remarkable developments in just 4 years of period, what the Congress and TDP governments could not do in 60 years of their rule. Soon after the formation of new State of Telangana, TRS government under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR assumed charge we have given highest priority for the construction of irrigation projects, drinking water and welfare schemes in the state. We have by and large achieved providing irrigation water to 70,000 acres in Wanaparthy.”

Niranjan Reddy while stressing that he is giving more priority to construct 10 more reservoirs in Wanaparthy constituency and has already got the approval for increasing the capacity from the existing 25TMC to 40 TMC. If this project is completed than an additional of 4 lakh acres will come under irrigation under the KLI project. 

While highlighting his most successful projects Niranjan Reddy said that in Mission Bhageeratha 100 per cent works in the district are completed and drinking water though taps is being provided to all the households in the distirct.

 “Wanaparthy district is the 4th district in the State to have completed the Mission Bhageerahta project before the targeted time. Under Mission Kakatiya we have completed renovation of all the 550 existing tanks in the district in all the 4 phases. Coming to power sector TRS government has created a record in the country by providing 24 hours of free power to the farming sector. For increasing the power capacity of the existing power stations, we have constructed 19 new 33/11KV substations,” said Niranjan Reddy.

In the coming days, the TRS MLA contestant from Wanaparthy has plans to bring in agro-based processing and value addition industries to the district. He said he has plans to bring in national level research institution for the development of sheep and goat breeding in the state. 

If voted to power in the upcoming elections, Nirajan Reddy said, in addition to implementation of all the promises made in the TRS manifesto, he said he would put all his efforts to get an IIIT to Wanaparthy apart from a government medical college to the district. “As usual we will give priority for education sector and see that more gurukula schools and professional institutions will be established in the district,” said Reddy. 

He said the Mahakutam is noting but a kutami playing in the hands of Andhra rules and people of Telangana will never ever believe them. He expressed hope that he would not only win as MLA from Wanaparthy with highest majority but would create a record in the coming elections.
