Parigi: A school bus driver averted a major accident by diverting the bus, whose brakes had failed, to a safe place on Monday. When the breaks of Srinidhi School bus failed, the alert driver showed his presence of mind and drove the vehicle with the students into a crop field.
The children, most of them studying nursery and LKG, escaped without any injuries. The incident occurred near Mujaheed Gate in Kulkacharla mandal. The parents of the students, concerned about the safety of their wards, urged the RTA officials to cancel the licences of the school buses which had failed in the fitness tests.
