Khammam the lone seat retained by TRS

The TRS, though won the Assembly elections with big margin and decimated the Congress-led Prajakutami, received brutal shock in the Khammam district as the party could retain only Khammam seat out of five seats for which elections were held on December 7.
The sitting MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar won the Khammam seat on a TRS ticket with a margin of 13,518 votes over TDP candidate Nama Nageswara Rao. The Khammam Assembly segment consists os 50 divisions under Municipal Corporation along with Khammam urban and rural mandals with a majority of voters present in the city. It is the part of the Khammam Lok Sabha Constituency.
Puvvada Ajay Kumar is the only MLA across the State who handed over the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques by going to the houses of beneficiaries and strived hard for development of the city along with beautification of Lakaram tankbund.
