Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday asked the party MPs to use the Parliament Sessions to put forward the agenda of Federal Front and explain the need for devolution of various departments like health, education, and agriculture. The Chief Minister chaired a meeting of the Parliamentary Party at Pragathi Bhavan on Thursday, which lasted for more than three hours.
According to sources, the Chief Minister informed about the strategy to be adopted during the Parliament session. Sources said that the Chief Minister had told the MPs to use the Parliament to explain the schemes which are being implemented in Telangana during the debates. Sources said that the Chief Minister wanted the MPs to raise important issues, which the State government had requested the Centre.
He pointed out about the division of High Court, getting national project status to Kaleshwaram project and others. He also wanted the MPs to bring up the reservations to the Muslims and Tribals. He wanted the MPs to remind the Centre about the resolution the State Assembly had adopted and sent to the government of India for increasing reservations.
“Talk to the other MPs and explain about the wrong judgment of the Supreme Court on the reservations and inform them that the correction of this mistake lies with the MPs,” TRS president told his MPs. He asked the MPs to strongly raise their voice for speedy division of High Court pointing out the delay of five long years and also the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Sources also said that the Chief Minister wanted the MPs to discuss about the proposed non-Congress and non-BJP Federal Front with the regional parties. The Chief Minister had proposed a national party, which would be a consortium of regional parties. The TRS MPs would be talking to the other regional parties and explaining the idea of their party president to the other MPs. Sources said that the TRS leader is slated to visit New Delhi after finalisation of the cabinet and other formalities. He would be meeting the regional party heads explaining his plans of Federal Front, sources said. The Chief Minister asked the MPs to be prepared for the coming elections with a focus to win 16 seats out of 17 seats in Telangana.
A P Jitender Reddy said that all the MPs would be attending Parliament from Monday onwards. He said that the party would be fighting it out with the Centre on 52 issues. The MPs would once again give representations to different ministries.
