The water sharing issue from Krishna river between the two Telugu speaking states seems to have not ended as the fishermen of Andhra and Telangana launched a fight near Vijayapuri south downstream Nagarjuna Sagar.

Fishermen from Andhra Pradesh alleged that a group of 10 fishermen from Telangana attacked two of them on Thursday night while the latter was guarding the fishing nets. "The AP government should ensure the safety of fishermen who are being attacked by Telangana fishermen," said Eripalli Venkateshwarlu, the president of fishermen society in Guntur adding that such incidents were reported in the past.

Meanwhile, the Vijayapuri south SI Challa Suresh said that as the incident occurred in Nalgonda, the area police have been informed and requested to take an immediate action. The sub-inspector also said that it is just a clash between two individuals not regions.
