Election notification for Gram Panchayat polls in Telangana will be released either on December 21 or 23. The Telangana government is going to enhance the reservations to 50 per cent and is planning to finish up the polls by January 10 as directed by the Supreme Court.
The dates for the conduct of elections are on scrutiny and will be finalised in a week by the election commission. Around 1,30,000 polling centres will be arranged for the Gram Panchayat elections. The voter list has been sent to all Panchayats in Telangana for verification and it will be submitted to EC.
