Darussalam: After retaining all the 7 existing constituencies in the recent elections, MIM MLAs have resumed their daily exercise of lending their ears to the grievances of their constituents at the party head quarter in Darussalam.

At a party executive meeting held on December 16, Akbaruddin Owaisi was unanimously elected as the floor leader once again. Ever since, all the MLAs are back to work and began listening to the grievances of visitors who come from across all the seven constituencies with problems ranging from local civic matters to personal issues. Daily sessions stretch for three to four hours and are generally chaired by the party chief and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi. Local corporators also make themselves available for addressing matters of concern at the same location. According to political observers, MIM remains the only party where MLAs sit together daily to listen to grievances of their constituents and the tradition continues for years.

Each day all the MLAs Akbaruddin Owaisi (Chandrayangutta), Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri (Yakutpura), Mumtaz Ahmed Khan (Charminar), Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala (Malakpet), Jafer Hussain Mehraj (Nampally), Kauser Mohiuddin (Karwan), Mouzam Khan (Bahadurpura) are seen sitting in row facing the public who wait for their turn to come. Generally, the session starts from 11 am and continues till 3 pm each day. On the first day of latest session, hundreds of people from different constituencies paid a visit to greet the elected MLAs. This was the first interaction between general public and MLAs, following the recent hectic election campaign.
