IWDA-2019 to fete women achievers
A curtainraiser event for International Womens Day Awards 2019 to be held in Dubai on March 8, was conducted at Press Club here on Friday
• Trophy and wall posters of the event were launched
• Well-known women like Jwala Gutta and Vijaya Nirmala have received Int’l Women’s Day Awards in the past
• This year, the IWDA will be held in Dubai on March 8
Basheerbagh: A curtain-raiser event for International Women’s Day Awards 2019 to be held in Dubai on March 8, was conducted at Press Club here on Friday.
On this occasion, trophy and wall posters of the event were launched by Jhansi Reddy, V Team chairman VS Veerendra Babu, Narayana Groups Director Sharani and cine director Jagadish Daneti.
The event to be conducted by V Team is already recognised by Guinness Book of Records for conducting more than 1,500 programmes revolving around women welfare.
Sharani said that noted women personalities such as Jwala Gutta, star director Vijaya Nirmala, B Jaya, actresses Sana, Kalpana and singer Sunitha, and others from various countries received the award in the past.
She expressed her happiness that the event would be conducted in Dubai this year. Chief guest of the curtain raiser event Jhansi provided details of the event to be conducted in Dubai.
She said that awards would be given to women for the notable achievements in the fields of sports, education, science, social work, music, dance, peace and business. Lifetime achievement awards would also be given, she added.
Cine director and head of JU World Jagadish Daneti said that the awards would help in inspiring women to excel in their specific fields. Interested candidates for awards can apply at iwda2019@gmail, he said.
The Executive director of BNI Hyderabad, Sanjana Shah, also participated in the curtain-raising event.
