Muslims told to strive for community welfare

Hyderabad: Muslim scholars and Ulema on Sunday urged the Muslim community to establish educational institutions, hospitals, charitable organizations, orphanages and old-age homes.
Addressing the 4th Hifz convocation of Azaan International Institute of Islamic Studies held at Indra Priyadarshini Auditorium in Nampally on Sunday, the scholars called upon the community to set up development and welfare centres towards helping the community and the country grow.
About 15 students, including six girls and nine boys, were felicitated on completing their Hifz (memorization of Holy Quran) with DastarBandi (Turban tying) ceremony.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Mohammed AsjadQasmiNadvi and Shaikh ul Hadith, Jamia Arabia ImdadiaMuradabad, called upon Muslims to protect the next generations from hypocrites.
“Hypocrites and western culture are the biggest threats to the community’s development, integrity and welfare,”QasmiNadvi said.
He also stressed on the indispensable value of religious education at schools. “Western education system is not suitable to Indian system. It is damaging the Indian culture.”
“Religious education is very important in shaping the minds and hearts of the generation next”, QasmiNadvisaid.The scholars also lauded the institution saying “the activities are eponymous to its name, Azaan, which means call to piety”.
He said entities with vested interests are targeting Muslims across the globe, whether in minority or majority of the population. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Azaan Group of Institutions Dr Yusuf Azam congratulated the students and said the motto of Azaan School is to transform students into a complete human being, a good Muslim and a secular Indian with everlasting moral values.
Shaikh Ahmed Ubaid ur Rahman Athar Nadvi supervised the completion of Hifz on this occasion.
Professor at English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) Dr Syed Rashid Naseem Nadvi, President Majlis-e-Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, guest of honourat the programme and Chairman at Islamic Daawah Centre (IDC) Delhi UmerGauthem, AIMPLB Member Mufti Syed Sadiq Mohiuddin Faheem and others were also present on this occasion.
