Chivemla (Suryapet): As many as 18 school students suffered injuries when a speeding lorry hit the bus in which children were travelling. The incident took place on Tuesday early hours on the outskirts of Chivemla mandal headquarters in Suryapet district.
According to sources, the students of Pullemla village of Chandur mandal in Nalgonda district went to excursion on January 10. During their return journey on Tuesday, on the outskirts of Chivemla, a speeding lorry heading towards Khammam lost the control and hit the private bus in which students were travelling. In the incident, as many as 18 students suffered injuries.
Of them, three students Pavani, Nikitha and Sujatha suffered injuries to their heads and were shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. Over 60 students were aboard at the time of the incident. The front portion of the bus was completely damaged in the accident. Local police informed that over speeding of the lorry lead to the accident. They registered a case and took up the investigation.
