Internal roads are pretty bad here

Kapra: Most of the inner roads in the Kapra circle are in a bad condition, as the officials concerned are more focussed on upkeep of main roads than internal ones. Though GHMC has been allotting funds for roads development, nothing worthwhile has happened in the circle.

Kapra, Sairam Nagar, Saibaba Nagar and New Vasavi Nagar. Cherlapalli which GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan represents is also suffering from lack of CC Roads. Roads have turned so bad that gravel split from the inner roads and pits have formed. Commuters and pedestrians are having difficulty passing through the stretch.

Local residents allege that officials from quality control wing are non–serious about construction of quality roads. Cracks are appearing within a short period. CC roads also met with the same fate. In some colonies residents are facing problems due to kachha roads or sand roads. Even after a little shower, the roads turn with muddy and people are subjected to hardships.

Besides, main and internal roads also frequently face road cutting threat from other departments in the name of underground drainage, laying bore well pipe lines, tap connections or cable lines. It is mandatory to take permission from the officer concerned before taking up road-cutting, but no one cares about the rule and, as a result, roads are being indiscriminately dug up. The residents are urging officials and public representatives to address the problem and find a permanent solution at the earliest.
