A security guard of Gurukul hostel in the drunk state thrashed students on Saturday in Daultabad mandal of Siddipet district. The incident came to light on Sunday after the students' parents lodged a complaint.
Getting into details, the guard, Sambulingam who reached the hostel in an inebriated state asked a student to give his mobile phone and when the latter asked to return it, the guard picked up an argument with the student. Developing a grudge on the student, Sambulingam called all the students to present before him around 10 pm on Saturday and beat them black and blue. As the gruesome act continued for 1 am, the students suffered serious injuries.
The parents of the students who noticed the injuries lodged a complaint with the police and demanded his suspension.
