Hyderabad: With an eye on 16 Lok Sabha seats in the State, TRS working president K T Rama Rao is likely to be entrusted with the responsibility of campaign for the party. The ruling TRS is determined to win 16 out of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the State, leaving out the one to its friendly party AIMIM.
TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will be spearhead the campaign and the party’s working president will be given the additional responsibility, specially going by his record of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections (GHMC), sources said. According to sources, KTR will have crucial role in the campaign of the party in the forthcoming elections.
In the earlier elections, KTR campaigned in GHMC areas and a few selected Assembly constituencies. The TRS leaders said this time, the TRS working president will campaign in more constituencies. “For us KCR is our star campaigner.
We have another star campaigner in KTR, who has fulfilled whatever responsibility he was given by the party and this time he is likely to tour more constituencies,” felt a senior TRS leader. Apart from the public meetings, the TRS leader will also take part in the road shows in major towns, added the TRS leader.
It may be mentioned here that the TRS working president, who headed the campaign in the GHMC elections, ensured the victory of TRS in 99 out of the 150 divisions. Even during the Assembly elections, the KTR had targeted the senior Congress party leaders in his campaign and this time also he would be focusing on the weak pockets.
After winning the elections, KCR made KTR the working president and since then he had toured Warangal and Sircilla. The TRS working president had already started his exercise. He had meetings with the party’s secretaries and entrusted them the responsibility of membership drive and also asked them to have enrolment of voters.
