A five-member interstate gang was arrested by the Central Crime Station (CCS) police, Warangal on Saturday. Gold ornaments worth Rs 27 lakh, Rs 5000 cash, six cell phones and other tools used for offences were recovered by the police.

According to police commissioner V Ravinder, the arrested identified as Rafikul Shaik (30), Rokas Shaik (37), Ohidul Molla (33) and Junthoti Molla (26) of Tangra district (Kolkata), West Bengal State would usually sell rugs, bed sheets and other clothes. After they began spending the money lavishly for the consumption of alcohol and other things, the gang started committing the thefts. They would identify the locked the houses while selling the rugs and broke into the house at nights.

Two of the gang was arrested near under bridge area while they were going to sell the stolen gold ornaments at the bullion market in Warangal, said the police. After questioning the culprits, the police arrested the other members.
