Uppal: A one-day seminar-cum-workshop on ‘impact of stress on nervous system and behavior’ was organized by Little Flower Degree College here on Friday. Stress is the most contributing factor for various diseases and disorders, adding to abnormal lifestyles causing cancers and diabetes.

Causes, management and prevention of stress and coping strategies were discussed by resource persons - Dr A Jagadish, paediatric early intervention, G Nissi Rufus, psychologist, Asha Hospital, Sashirekha, department of psychology, Little Flower Degree College, Ravindra, Department of Social Work, Osmania University, in detail. Dr Jagadish gave an overview about the sources of stress and identifying the key aspects of stress which could affect the neurological functioning and behaviour.

Participants from various colleges, counselors and professionals were part of this workshop. Nissi Rufus started with an activity and then she spoke about how to take preventive measures to overcome stress. Resource persons were honoured by principal Brother Vincent Reddy and vice-principal Jayanthi Reddy
