Women lawyers & police greeted
As part of Womens Day festivities and to break the stereotypes, leaders from womens wing of JamaateIslami Hind JIH on Thursday met women advocates and police women at High Court and Ghansi Bazar police station and shared the message and joy of international womens day which falls on March 8
Charminar: As part of Women’s Day festivities and to break the stereotypes, leaders from women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) on Thursday met women advocates and police women at High Court and Ghansi Bazar police station and shared the message and joy of international women’s day which falls on March 8.
While distributing specially made greeting card amongst these women considered being embodiment of the law, the women leaders explained about the importance provided in the religion of Islam for a woman, beyond stereotypes. Speaking on the occasion, City secretary of JIH, Ayesha Sultana emphasised that Islam does not designate lower status to women, as duties and responsibilities they take up were far more challenging than men.
Expressing concern over the growing number of incidents of violence against women, the leader held that this was the occasion to provide a chance for everyone to understand the importance given to women in Islam, as incidence of serious crime against women is considerably less amongst Muslims. She noted that Prophet Muhammad teachings suggest various facets of women and glorifies their role as mother, daughter, sister and wife. “We hope to enlighten and empower women about different fields within the community through proper knowledge,” she noted.
On the occasion, Aisha and other women leaders distributed greeting cards and shared the joy of womanhood. Amongst others, Charminar president, Kafeelunnisa and other women leaders took part in the programme.
