Hyderabad: Womenergy Association of Incubators in Manufacturing (WEAIM) is the first of its kind in India which supports aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs in manufacturing. On the occasion on International Women’s day celebration- 2019, SKODA , Jubilee Hills, sponsored ‘SHE MANUFACTURES’ event wherein 25 women manufacturers were honoured for their accomplishment

Parsva Kumar, Director, Mahavir Auto Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, mentioned that he was happy to support WEAIM in this initiative towards women empowerment on the occasion of International women's day. “Many innovative ideas of aspiring women manufacturers are not seeing the light of the day, they need a support ecosystem,” he said.

“This year 2019, we are supporting 100 women to establish their own manufacturing units through WEAIM’s ‘START IT SCALE IT CELL,’ said Deepthy Reddy Madugula, Founder, WEAIM.

Dr Sowmini Sunkara, Director, WEAIM, informed that they are training in-house entrepreneurs, mostly under-privileged women, in 3 key areas of manufacturing – organic processed foods , Ayurvedic products and upcycled textile based products. “Also we are providing around 23 services, which manufacturers need to set up business, as a one-stop services solution through WEAIM, especially to ease the struggle of micro, small and medium scale manufacturers,” she informed.

Phansri Konte, director of WEAIM and founder of Jivashri Ayurveda, stated that the women entrepreneurs were struggling to scale up their enterprises. Hence, they would be funding 25 women manufacturing enterprises selectively through private equity, investors support and mentorship support so that they can grow further.

Sanjay Chaturvedi, Director, NIMSME, congratulated WEAIM for "She Manufactures " programme and presented mementos to 25 successful women manufacturers. He observed that more women should come forward to manufacture new things for a prosperous Telangana.

Devi Sri Prasad, Director (Agriculture, Human Development, Monitoring & Evaluation), Centre for Good Governance, extended congratulations to WEAIM and also emphasised the need for women to focus on agri sector and food processing manufacturing .

Geeta Goti, independent director, NSIC, stressed the need for creating proper mentorship support for aspiring women entrepreneurs on how to start business as well as sustain and succeed in their ventures.
Veda Nadella, Rahat Khan, Likitha Bhanu, Madhavi Swetha, Jaya Saritha Saran and Indira Amarson were among the 25 honoured manufacturers.
