Karthi's Dev first day box office collections report

After scoring a hit with Oopiri and Khakhee, hero Karthi scored a flop last year with the film China Babu. To strike back hard, he came up with his new film Dev which has hit the screens the other day. Directed by Rajath Ravishankar, the film has Rakul Preet as the female lead.

The movie raised expectations with its breezy music and intriguing trailer. But after the release, it was proved that the film is just another love drama filled with some action sequences. Thus, the verdict of the audience is poor and might affect the run of the film at the box office.

The day one performance of the film was average on the whole. Lack of proper promotions resulted in low openings for the film. The response will further damage the film's run and it might end up as a failure finally. The film was produced by Lakshman Kumar and the music was composed by Harris Jayaraj.
