Misleading propaganda by Seemandhra leaders: Mallepalli

Nagarjunasagar: Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram asserted here on Saturday that there was a need for continuing the separatist struggle till statehood was achieved for the region as the Congress was unlikely to concede the demand soon. The agitation would target the ruling party, he said. Addressing the two-day 'Samalochana Sabha' programme organised by the Telangana Vidyavantula Vedika, he said the needed pressure on the Centre to take a decision in favour of the State was being exerted.

A 'Jana Chaitanya Yatra' under the leadership of Rasamayi Balkishan was being organised from July 17. Prof. Kodadaram advised youth not to get disheartened, but to continue the fight. Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, co-convener of JAC, who presided over the meeting, accused the Centre of creating an illusion of conceding Telangana and adopting delaying tactics. He said the Seemandhra leaders' issue of concern was protection to their properties in Hyderabad. He accused them of resorting to propaganda that a visa would be required to visit Telangana.

He pointed out such visa problem did not arise when Gujarat was separated from Maharashtra and would not be there if Telangana was created. There would not be any discrimination against people belonging to Andhra and Telangana areas. Jeetendrababu spoke on 'Andhra Mahasabha prayogamu' and Sridhar Pande on 'Ummadi samalochana'. Nalgonda district JAC chairman G Venkateshwarlu was among those present.
