Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) secretary-general Dr K Keshav Rao accused Governor ESL Narasimhan of going above and beyond his duties to suppress the aspirations of Telangana public. The Governor's actions regarding Telangana amount to violation of the Constitution, he remarked.
Talking to reporters at his residence here, Keshav Rao observed that public representatives were key persons in the democracy and not the Governor, who was only an agent of the President of the country. He said that the powers-that-be, who were trying to suppress public opinion, had no right to continue in their office.
Rejecting package proposal that was doing rounds for the last few days, Keshav Rao stated that public of Telangana would not accept anything short of a separate state of Telangana. He appealed to the Telangana Congress leaders to consider their future if the high command did not concede statehood.
Meanwhile, Siddipet legislator T Harish Rao warned the UPA government of serious consequences if it settled for package or any other alternative option rather than conceding Telangana.
