Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Health Minister and in-charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad congratulated Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for maintenance of law and order in a smooth and peaceful manner, according to a press release by the CM's office. They also appreciated him for showing utmost restraint in handling the situation even in the circumstances under which some parties were planning to create trouble, the note said.
Both the ministers spoke to the Chief Minister and enquired about 'Chalo Assembly', who thanked the Centre for extending their full support and providing central forces for maintaining law and order. CM also informed that all efforts were taken to ensure that no untoward incident takes place and utmost precautions were taken to ensure that no damage was done to public properties and for the safety and security of the public, according to the release.
In the meantime, the Chief Secretary, P K Mohanty thanked the Union Home Secretary R K Singh for responding to the state's request for additional forces. He informed Singh that the 25 platoons of force sent from the central pool helped the state in handling the law and order situation in Hyderabad rather affectively during the TJAC sponsored 'Chalo Assembly' program. Official sources said that Singh had assured the state of continued support to the state.
