Venkat Parsa New Delhi: AICC general secretary in charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Tuesday said the Congress core committee will discuss Telangana threadbare and a decision may follow. Chaired by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Group would discuss the issue threadbare. Digvijay Singh said, "I do not have any personal opinion on Telangana. On the basis of the reports of the state leaders, we will take a decision. The implementation part is mine." Digvijay Singh has said that already extensive consultations had been held with leaders of different regions and others.

In a related development, Sonia Gandhi is said to have indicated to Congress MP Palvai Goverdhan Reddy that she is holding talks with all leaders and stakeholders and will also discuss the issue in the core committee. She reportedly appeared keen on finding an early and amicable solution to the long-pending issue.

Ever since Digvijay Singh took charge of Andhra Pradesh, he has had several rounds of consultations with leaders from all parts and shades in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad as well as in Delhi. After returning from Hyderabad, he met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and appraised them of his talks with the state leaders. He said he had even submitted a report to them. Digvijay met TJAC and Rayalaseem JAC leaders besides the Student JAC leaders from Osmania.

Meanwhile, the Seemandhra JAC leaders led by Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy met Digvijay Singh and pressed for retention of Andhra Pradesh as a united State. The Seemandhra leaders are intensifying there agitation opposing the creation of Telangana. Sensing that some decision may be taken early on Telangana, the Seemandhra JAC has intensified its stir for united Andhra Pradesh.

If the State is to be divided, Rayalaseema should not be divided and tagged on to Andhra or Telangana regions but should be formed into Rayalseema State, the Rayalaseema JAC leaders added.
