Hyderabad: Stating that a decision was taken to boycott 'tainted ministers' speeches, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members staged a walkout when Minister J Geetha Reddy was speaking in the State Assembly on Monday.

In response, Geetha Reddy warned the opposition members of filing a defamation suit if they continued to address her as a 'tainted minister'. Lashing out at TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on this occasion, she pointed out that Naidu had a role in many scams such as stamp, Yeleru, IMG Bharata etc. She alleged that Chandrababu Naidu approached courts to obtain stay which was not the case with her colleagues.

According to the Minister, the GOs were passed with the approval of the Cabinet and none of the ministers should be faulted for it. She expressed hope that all the ministers facing allegations would come out clean. It was not appropriate to associate a term like tainted unless the allegations against ministers were proved, she felt.

"The walkout staged by the TDP leaders was uncalled for. It should set its House in order instead of resorting to mudslinging tactics. Senior leaders like Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, Kadiyam Srihari have left the party and many more would follow their footsteps in the future if it does not mend its ways," Geetha Reddy added.
