Ailing YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been on fast for last six days, was shifted to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) from Osmania General Hospital late on Friday night. Earlier, Osmania doctors informed the Chanchalguda jail authorities that Jagan’s health condition was deteriorating with the lowering of BP and sugar levels and asked them to shift him to NIMS as OGH lacks advanced treatment facilities. Also since Jagan had been resisting to take food, and undergo any treatment since morning, the officials thought it was better to move him to NIMS as it has better facilities to treat him. Hyderabad : Ailing YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been on fast for last six days, was shifted to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) from Osmania General Hospital late on Friday night. Jagan was admitted at OGH late on Thursday night.
Though looking feeble, Jagan refused to take a wheel chair to be carried from the AMC ward to the main entrance at the OGH, and preferred to walk to the bullet proof car parked outside the hospital.
He got into the vehicle with the help of security men. Jagan was admitted to an intensive care unit at new block at NIMS. He will undergo medical tests including ECG, blood and urine tests and a team of doctors including cardiologists are attending on him. It is said that he will be administered IV fluids as he fell sick after conducting tests. As a large number of YSR Congress workers and leaders began to throng the hospital premises, police threw a thick security blanket. Jagan’s wife Bharathi and mother and YSR Party Honorary President YS Vijayamma reached the hospital in advance and enquired about the medical facilities with the hospital authorities.
Worried YSRCP asks Jagan to call off fast
Hyderabad: In view of deteriorating health condition, YSR Congress Party, on Friday, appealed to the party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to call off his indefinite fast, which he is still continuing in Osmania General Hospital, where he was shifted from Chanchalguda jail on Thursday night. The party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) under the leadership of party honorary president YS Vijayamma met here and passed a resolution appealing to Jagan to withdraw his fast in the larger interests of people.
Addressing the press here, Vijayamma said the resolution will be sent to Jagan along with her personal letter, if permitted, requesting him to stop his deeksha as he has to lead the party in many struggles that are yet to come. “Jagan’s health condition is falling drastically. The decision is taken keeping in view the future battles to fight. Last night, when Jagan was shifted to Osmania hospital, we had no information and when we rushed to the spot on hearing the news through media, we were not allowed to meet him,” she said. Vijayamma said her party also moved the court to allow either his wife Bharathi or her to accompany Jagan while on fast and the reply is awaited. “The situation is that none has access to Jagan and cannot communicate. If the permission is accorded, I will convey the PAC decision to him,” she added further.
